I'm sorry, but the oxford comma is necessary. On could interpret from the above example that the person is only taking two classes; an English class, and a combo math/science class.
@Nikon That is a frustrating as all hell style rule, and I don't know if I'd be able to hold myself back from violating it at each potential opportunity if I had to follow it.
