Sometimes I want to commission someone to help them out and to get something in their style, but I don't have a character in mind, so I just let them pick.

It makes me feel good that that means they end up drawing someone they're excited to draw, and sometimes they end up picking someone I wouldn't have thought to pick and that gets *me* excited for a character again too.
