Chitter maintenance 🔚
i forgot to post a follow-up!
the maintenance went well, chitter is now based on mastodon 3.3.0, the release notes for which are here https://github.com/tootsuite/mastodon/releases/tag/v3.3.0
it's also now all on one server instead of tiny critical bits being on another server in the same datacenter for legacy reasons
work to consolidate media is ongoing and will likely take days if not weeks, but no more downtime is to be expected

Next Monday, April 26, starting around 10:00 UTC, I will be doing a bunch of maintenance on Chitter infrastructure, including:
- Upgrading to a less ancient version of Mastodon
- Upgrading Postgres
- Moving the frontend closer to the database (speedup 😮)
- Consolidating media on one machine

One of our providers will be doing network maintenance, expected to be done within 30 minutes. It will be followed by a period when remote statuses will be delayed and may arrive out of order.

Hi folks! Chitter is going to go offline (again! sorry!) for some hardware maintenance today at 09:00 UTC (that's in a little under six hours).
