how often do you buy an umbrella
see the problem with making one of the answers funny is that now i cant tell whether people are picking that because it's funny or because they truly have had the same umbrella for their whole life
it's fine though i only really care about whether anyone will vote 1 year or lower. i was reading an insufferable minimalist digital nomad's packlist and they were saying that they carried a very small but flimsy umbrella most of the time and bought a proper one whenever rainy season came up and the idea of buying an umbrella every year baffled me so much
who every 6 month. wh
@codl I find them in my house. They just turn up.
@Vordus mine keep disappearing so you might have mine
@codl I mean there's not really a choice in this poll is there
@codl I'm a sheltered youth and I have never purchased anything that doesn't plug into a computer or my mouth
@codl This makes sense to me. I am very prone to losing things like that, and if it rained here more I think I'd accept buying one every year and losing it at some point.
@spacefinner if you lose it every year OK, that's valid, that guy seemed to throw it away every day because it doesn't fit in his bag
@codl I buy one a year because I end up losing them.
I once went 3 years with a single umbrella which I LOVED the heck out of and tried really hard not to lose, but alas I eventually did (and sadly it was irreplaceable)
@codl where I live it almost never rains so I buy one every 8 years but when I lived in a place where it does rain it broke after like 3 weeks
@codl what happens is i go on vacation and it rains and did I remember to bring one? Of course not. So, new umbrella
Independently of this I get one every 2 or so years as a promotional gift. It sees no use
@codl I've only bought an umbrella once so I don't have enough data to answer
@codl I don't think I've handled an umbrella since I was a child? I do keep a raincoat in my car though
@codl I've never bought an umbrella and don't consider myself to "have" one, in my experience umbrellas are more akin to a cryptid that lives in the house with me and sometimes shows itself, and on rare occasions I go out on walks together with it
@codl i have 3, which are like 5-10 years old, and i don't think i've ever bought one
