i'd like to point out that if someone is calling the masses to action, they're probably not specifically talking about the people who absolutely can't participate.

there are plenty of people out there who CAN answer that call, but DON'T because they have the privilege to stand back and be comfortable, or maybe it just doesn't really occur to them, or even the people that usually do help might not be up to speed on current events

@ctrlaltdog That's fair, but folks like me who want to be involved, who wish they could do something, and have that evil little voice inside their heads that say "you really could you know, you're just not trying hard enough" feel like shit when we see these posts admonishing folks to get more involved.

@ctrlaltdog I've recently spoken to someone who's disabled who felt a lot of relief after I mentioned that not everyone can help therefore they shouldn't feel guilty about not helping.

They'd just never encountered the idea. They're not uneducated or unintelligent (though being either is obviously no crime).

@ctrlaltdog Is it really too much to ask that those trying to inspire folks to action spare a few words of encouragement for those of us who wish we could and very much want to act?
