Final update:

The verification codes are arriving around 20 minutes after I request them, but the code expires after 10.

I’m convinced the issue is with Hotmail rather than Nintendo, as others have just seamlessly got their codes and logged in.

It’s all good though, I’ve managed to preorder the consoles and pro controllers from other retailers, and @CTD kindly got me a GameCube controller and SD from Ninty direct.

At this point, I’d only like to get into the Nintendo store to get a GameCube controller.

Checking on Twitter (RIP) there’s a handful of people with the same issue.

I wonder if they use Hotmail also? Cos I’m starting to think this is the issue.

Question for people who know about this sort of thing:

My 10 year old son has wanted a Nintendo Switch forever. He's never had any sort of console (he barely even gets a go on my phone), but is beginning to feel really left out.

Should I buy the new Switch 2 or can I get away with just buying him a Switch? I don't want to spend a whole lot of money, but I don't want to buy something that'll be obsolete in months.

This cute little guy is from the original Super Mario Bros. His name is Goomba in English and Kuribō in Japanese.

The game takes place in a mushroom kingdom, so he was modeled after Shiitakes. But one developer thought he resembled a chestnut, and called him Kuribō. This means “chestnut boy” in Japanese.

There’s more to the story, but that’s the gist of his name duality.

I'm probabably going to catch a lot of flag for this, but I need to get this off my chest. I have seen so many people talk about how bad the pricepoint of the Nintendo Switch 2 is that I need to add my 2 cents, if only to counteract all those ragebait videos on youtube that I have not and will not watch.

I am really well off. I can spend a lot of money on the Nintendo Switch 2. No, I do not consider that console to be cheap. Yes, I even think it's a bit overpriced. But: Videogames are a luxury. You do not need them to survive. You want to play videogames? Chances are you already have a bunch of them. Play them, save up some money and when you're ready splurge on a good deal.

Fomo is your enemy here. You don't need to get a Nintendo Switch 2 immediately.
