RynUfe<p>Happy International Nonbinary People's Day!</p><p>My people, the Houma, have recorded queer and nonbinary/trans peoples met and written about since colonization began, from the early 1700s and before. </p><p>This is not new. It is reclaimed from colonial genocidal forces. It has survived, and so will I, and so will my people. </p><p><a href="https://meemu.org/tags/IndigenousGulf" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>IndigenousGulf</span></a> <a href="https://meemu.org/tags/UmaSeyah" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>UmaSeyah</span></a> <a href="https://meemu.org/tags/nonbinary" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>nonbinary</span></a> <a href="https://meemu.org/tags/Indigenous" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Indigenous</span></a> <a href="https://meemu.org/tags/Louisiana" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Louisiana</span></a> <a href="https://meemu.org/tags/BeyondTheBinary" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>BeyondTheBinary</span></a> <a href="https://meemu.org/tags/NonBinaryAwarenessWeek" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>NonBinaryAwarenessWeek</span></a> <a href="https://meemu.org/tags/NonBinaryPeoplesDay" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>NonBinaryPeoplesDay</span></a> <a href="https://meemu.org/tags/InternationalNonBinaryPeoplesDay" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>InternationalNonBinaryPeoplesDay</span></a></p>
Open Security Conference<p>Today is International Non-Binary People's Day. As good an opportunity as any to learn more, directly from non-binary folks and their lived experience. Follow the hashtags below and you'll find profiles to follow and extend your own bubble. Start change with yourself by watching for your own behaviors and adapting them to reduce harm. Systemic discrimination of non-binary people can still be found everywhere, so let's become an active part of the solution!</p><p><a href="https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Non-Binary_People%27s_Day" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intern</span><span class="invisible">ational_Non-Binary_People%27s_Day</span></a></p><p><a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/NonBinary" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>NonBinary</span></a> <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/enby" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>enby</span></a> <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/BeyondTheBinary" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>BeyondTheBinary</span></a> <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/NonBinaryAwarenessWeek" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>NonBinaryAwarenessWeek</span></a> <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/NonBinaryPeoplesDay" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>NonBinaryPeoplesDay</span></a> <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/InternationalNonBinaryPeoplesDay" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>InternationalNonBinaryPeoplesDay</span></a> <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/osco" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>osco</span></a> <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/osco24" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>osco24</span></a> [lisi]</p>
Ruby S.<p>From the very smart Dave Zirin on the Facebook: </p><p>Here's a thought: the debate about trans women and non-binary folks in sports always starts in the wrong place. It always begins with an assumed accepted supposition: that this whole "problem" was started by the assertion of trans women to find space to be athletes. That's not how we should be thinking about this. The root cause of this conflict is not the existence of trans women. It's the fact that we impose a strict gender binary on sports in the first place. A gender binary in an increasingly gender fluid world simply will not work. What we really suffer from - other than the wall of anti-trans bigotry that prevents serious discussion about these issues - is a crisis of imagination: of reinventing sports to fit a changing world instead of cruelly marginalizing people who don't fit in a box created in the 19th century.</p><p><a href="https://www.facebook.com/edgeofsports/posts/pfbid0vtTRtumoyC2XLt4bStCTvtDVAo5JrSst68LQ7yd5qtU1aGH86bPxQMVX9fq5LGzhl" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">facebook.com/edgeofsports/post</span><span class="invisible">s/pfbid0vtTRtumoyC2XLt4bStCTvtDVAo5JrSst68LQ7yd5qtU1aGH86bPxQMVX9fq5LGzhl</span></a></p><p><a href="https://toot.cat/tags/transRights" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>transRights</span></a> <a href="https://toot.cat/tags/beyondTheBinary" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>beyondTheBinary</span></a> <a href="https://toot.cat/tags/transInSports" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>transInSports</span></a> <a href="https://toot.cat/tags/sports" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>sports</span></a></p>
Anne Fausto Sterling<p>In 1985 I published a book that showed how resilient biological ideas abt male-female inequality were, even in the face of strong evidence to the contrary. So I realized I had to understand more about <a href="https://mastodon.world/tags/scienceasculturalknowledge" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>scienceasculturalknowledge</span></a> which led to a 20yr sojourn c/ <a href="https://mastodon.world/tags/scienceandtechnologystudies" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>scienceandtechnologystudies</span></a>. Now a young scholar is joining the fields; it makes me happy that as I finish up my work, their's continues.</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.world/tags/alutacontinua" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>alutacontinua</span></a><br><a href="https://mastodon.world/tags/sexisamess" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>sexisamess</span></a><br><a href="https://mastodon.world/tags/gender" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>gender</span></a>/sex<br><a href="https://mastodon.world/tags/gender" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>gender</span></a>/sex/uality<br><a href="https://mastodon.world/tags/beyondthebinary" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>beyondthebinary</span></a></p><p><a href="https://penntoday.upenn.edu/news/going-beyond-binary-historical-explorations-sex-and-gender?utm_source=Primary&amp;utm_campaign=d69dbdef28-11%2F21%2F22%3A+Increasing+access&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_term=0_3777f2ca8f-d69dbdef28-45831988" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">penntoday.upenn.edu/news/going</span><span class="invisible">-beyond-binary-historical-explorations-sex-and-gender?utm_source=Primary&amp;utm_campaign=d69dbdef28-11%2F21%2F22%3A+Increasing+access&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_term=0_3777f2ca8f-d69dbdef28-45831988</span></a></p>
