Miguel Afonso CaetanoUm extraterrestre que chegasse hoje a uma qualquer grande cidade portuguesa pensaria que nós somos um país com uma população relativamente jovem e não com uma crescente percentagem de pessoas com mais de 65 anos, pessoas que necessitam da cadeira de rodas para se movimentarem pelas ruas das suas cidades, pessoas que precisam de transportes públicos acessíveis e sem falhas nem brechas na cobertura. Por essas e por outras razões, considero que a fraquíssima qualidade do poder autárquico nacional é uma das principais razões do défice de qualidade de vida de Portugal em comparação com os restantes países desenvolvidos. Os autarcas nacionais vivem numa bolha que está a quilómetros de distância do dia-a-dia da esmagadora maioria dos munícipes da suas cidades. Miguel Afonso CaetanoCarta de condução? Paga pelo próprio! Carro? Pago pelo próprio! Combustível? Pago pelo próprio! Risco de acidentes perante terceiros? Elevado/bastante elevado. Riscos ambientais e de saúde? Elevados. Custos de construção da Infra-estrutura de circulação? Extremamente elevados! A obsessão dos autarcas nacionais na defesa dos interesses dos automobilistas e as suas viaturas contrasta com o manifesto borrifanço para com quem precisa de ou prefere andar a pé ou de cadeira de rodas. Não só isso como a canalização dos orçamentos municipais para a construção de mais parques de estacionamento, mais rotundas e mais asfalto acaba na prática por resultar no desinvestimento naquelas cinco prioridades que tendem mais ou menos a afectar a qualidade de vida de todos os munícipes - independentemente de serem ou não automobilistas. Em consequência, a dependência dos munícipes das cidades portuguesas para com a viatura privada enquanto meio de deslocação diária tornou-se tão elevada que não admira que os congestionamentos de tráfego e a ausência de lugares de estacionamento sejam uma constante em todas as cidades com mais de 50 mil habitantes. Numa tentativa apressada de tentar tapar estes problemas crescentes e de dar uma pseudo-imagem de "mobilidade verde" e de "sustentabilidade", na última década os autarcas nacionais começaram a gastar dinheiro à fartazana em ciclovias e redes públicas de aluguer de bicicletas. O resultado é que os munícipes portugueses que não conduzem nem querem ser ciclistas têm que não só lidar todos os dias com carros em cima dos passeios - "monos" de uma tonelada e meia - a ocupar espaço como também com ciclovias que roubam passeio público aos peões. Miguel Afonso CaetanoO que é que os munícipes de uma cidade esperam dos seus autarcas? Eu tenho algumas ideias: 1 - Recolha diária do lixo urbano. 2 - Tratamento e abastecimento de água canalizada - sem cortes. 2 - Mais e melhores espaços públicos verdes (jardins e parques) e de lazer (bibliotecas, centros culturais, piscinas), com horários mais alargados - para si, para os seus amigos e para as suas famílias. 3 - Transportes públicos tendencialmente gratuitos, mais rápidos, em maior número, mais confortáveis, abrangendo mais zonas, com horários mais alargados e com maiores ligações para com os concelhos limítrofes. 4 - Passeios públicos mais largos e sem buracos. 5 - Iluminação adequada. Depois há outros temas importantes (mais escolas, mais centros de saúde e hospitais, mais segurança...) que dependem mais da (in)acção do poder executivo e legislativo do que das autarquias. Infelizmente, a maior parte dos autarcas portugueses convenceu-se de que TODOS os seus munícipes são ou deviam ser obrigados a ser automobilistas e que, como tal, só estão interessados em mais rotundas, parques de estacionamento e estradas sem buracos. Isso não seria tão problemático se os autarcas não quisessem convencer os restantes munícipes que não são nem querem ser automobilistas de que a maioria dos seus concidadãos é automobilista. Ora, não me parece que possamos dar essa hipótese não apenas como um facto, mas como um facto adquirido. Mark SquiresThis Mouro Gold Label blend (the top-of-the-line from a top winery in Alentejo) has evolved well in the warm 2009 year. It now folds warmth of the year into the whole. Tannins have moderated too. A sweet edge shows tasty fruit and a bit of oak, plus some licorice.It's always going to be a fruit-forward red, but it has surprising finesse and focus on display with its age, and with air. It drinks beautifully.
